2. Data Safety & Transparency (Google Play Compliance)

We are committed to the Google Play Data Safety standards. Although our app functions primarily offline and does not require user accounts, we use third-party services (Google AdMob) that collect specific data to provide advertising, analytics, and security.

3. Information Collected and Shared (Third-Party SDKs)

Scientific Sketch integrates the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK. This SDK automatically collects and shares the following data with Google for advertising and fraud prevention purposes:

  • Approximate Location: Derived from your IP address to show relevant, localized ads.

  • App Interactions: Data regarding your interactions with ads (e.g., clicks, views) and app launch events.

  • Device & Other IDs: Identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID (GAID) used for frequency capping and personalized advertising.

  • App Info & Performance: Crash logs and diagnostic data to ensure app stability and monitor ad performance.

Note: All data collected by the AdMob SDK is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. We do not personally store or have access to this data on our own servers.

4. Local Data Handling

Scientific Sketch is designed to respect your privacy. The following data is handled exclusively on your device:

  • Scientific Diagrams: Any sketches or diagrams you view or interact with.

  • Storage Access: If you choose to save or export a diagram, the file is saved locally to your device’s storage. We do not operate any backend servers, and we never upload your local files or sketches to the cloud.

5. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or share:

  • Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as Name, Email, or Phone Number.

  • Sensitive information like Contacts, Photos (other than those saved by the app), or Microphone data.

  • Precise GPS location.

6. Children’s Privacy

Scientific Sketch is an educational app suitable for students.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

  • Advertising served via AdMob is configured to comply with Google Play’s Families Policy and COPPA requirements where applicable.

  • The app contains no social features, chat rooms, or user-created profiles.

7. Permissions

The app may request the following permissions:

  • Internet Access: To load educational diagrams and display advertisements.

  • Storage/Media Access: To allow you to save or share diagram images.

  • Advertising ID Permission: Required by Android 13+ to allow the AdMob SDK to function.

8. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Since we do not collect personal data or maintain user accounts, we do not store data that we can delete upon request. You can manage your privacy by:

  • Resetting your Advertising ID in your Android Device Settings.

  • Clearing App Cache/Data or uninstalling the app to remove all local files.

9. Third-Party Links

Our app contains links to our full Privacy Policy (hosted on Termly.io) and may link to the Google Play Store. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.
